Before the 2019 Assembly elections, the NCP’s grandeur of the NCP in Solapur district was also at stake. National leader Sharad Pawar and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Dada Pawar brought power to the states even as some veteran NCP leaders in Solapur fell on the BJP’s neck and some came to their doorsteps. While the party is currently in power in the states, the city district office bearers should push for the growth of the party organization, but in Solapur, the picture is that the party is taking a break.
An internal dispute has erupted between district president Baliram Kaka Sathe and district executive president Umesh Patil. Umesh Patil justified the birthday of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in the Zilla Parishad group as well as in the municipal area. The program was announced by State President Jayant Patil himself at a function in Solapur. The program was inaugurated in the presence of District President Kaka Sathe and State Vice President Deepak Salunke. Umesh Patil, the district executive president of the NCP, is implementing a program in the district that most of the NCP leaders should not have come up with before. The program seems to be getting a huge response. Various issues like encroachment of land, house, village are being raised in this Janata Darbar.
Meanwhile, the Janata Darbar was being held in South Solapur taluka. However, every NCP worker is now saying that it was an insult to the party workers to change the taluka president on the same day in which the program was started.
In this case, Umesh Patil postponed the election of Tadkafadki taluka president in his own right. When Subhash Patil was appointed in 2020, I also signed the letter, so how did the president change without my signature? Umesh Patil said that it is not right to remove the taluka president who took a good program.
When district president Kaka Sathe reacted to this, he added that there is no executive chairmanship in the party’s constitution, so Umesh Patil has no right to change the taluka president, adding that Karjole will remain the president. The next day, when Kaka Sathe went to Gunjegaon in South Solapur taluka, the activists of that village expressed their anger against Kaka Sathe. How did you change the taluka president? The workers raised many questions in front of my uncle that we were working under the leadership of Subhash Patil. Seeing the anger of the workers, he left the meeting. The video has also gone viral in the media.
Given the overall situation of the NCP in Solapur district and the dispute between Kaka Sathe and Umesh Patil, the general puzzle is whether the NCP office bearers should expand the party or give it a break. Now the attention of the party workers in the city district is focused on what the party seniors decide on this.
